Huang Hufa walked home with a chicken bone, and his owner paid the ¥7 bill. Then 58,000 commenters discovered a customer who could not deny buying noodles, a nuclear plant, New York and the rest of the universe.
What happened
A shop sent a message to a dog owner. Huang Hufa — the dog’s name — had just left with a chicken leg. Price: seven yuan. The owner replied with the only reasonable question — did he buy it? — and transferred the money.

The transfer made one small claim official: this dog could shop, and his human would settle the bill. The comment section, all 58,000 of it, treated that as an open account.
护法 hù fǎ literally names a guardian or protector of the Dharma. As a pet name, it gives an ordinary dog the air of a titled enforcer: Guardian Huang. The comments promoted him again — to customer, mayor, tycoon and finally a line item nobody could question.

The joke does not begin with a fantastical dog. It begins with a real payment. The owner sent seven yuan, so the comments treated Huang Hufa as a customer with an established credit history. Each new invoice copied the syntax of an ordinary merchant: item, quantity, total, payment method. The less plausible the purchase became, the more professional the paperwork sounded.
That is why the funniest lines are not the largest numbers. They are reimburse this, put it through the company books, will you pay my company account? and I’ve got to skim a little. The comment section did not merely make Huang Hufa rich. It built a paper trail around an animal who could never contest it.
